GROHE brand, as part of LIXIL, a leading global brand for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, has announced the inaugural launch of the GROHE Installer Vocational Training and Education (GIVE) Program in partnership with the AMAR School for Technology in Cairo, Egypt. The GIVE Program provides young installers with a solid foundation for a successful start to their careers.
GROHE brand initiated the GIVE Program to address the shortage of skilled professionals in the plumbing and sanitary sector. This initiative aligns with the Egyptian government’s goal of establishing 100 vocational schools by 2030. Currently, the GIVE Program collaborates with over 70 training schools in the EMENA (Europe, Middle East, and North Africa) region, providing a cutting-edge framework for training. The positive impact of the GIVE Program extends to more than 3,000 students aged between 18 and 25 across various regions, including Morocco, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Europe and most recently Saudi Arabia.
The GIVE Program offers aspiring young individuals professional training and guidance in the fields of plumbing and sanitary work to provide them with a strong foundation for their future careers. More than just a training program, GIVE also supports educational institutions in creating a uniform approach, providing modern equipment, training materials, and written examinations that set new industry standards. This approach ensures that students benefit from a hands-on education, providing them with a strong foundation for a prosperous future in the industry.
Upon successful completion of the GIVE Program, students will receive a recognized international certificate and assistance with job placements or even a work experience program at one of GROHE’s industry partners.
Mohamad Ataya, Leader, North Africa, LIXIL, EMENA, said: “As a leader in the sanitary industry and a major player in the Egyptian market, the GIVE Program is an integral part of our efforts to support the Egyptian market and promote sustainable practices. It provides specialized training and knowledge transfer programs to enhance technical skills and equip professionals with the expertise needed to drive innovation and sustainability in the plumbing and sanitary sector.”
By fostering local talent and empowering individuals, especially in the currently challenging economic state the country finds itself in, the GROHE brand aims to create a skilled workforce that can contribute to the development of the sector and meet the evolving needs of the Egyptian market. This initiative also aligns with the first pillar of LIXIL’s sustainability strategy – Global Sanitation & Hygiene – which aims to improve the livelihood of 100 million people through sanitation and hygiene initiatives by 2025.
